Inside the South Park pinball machine

Independent tips for the professional at Leisure

December 2008

One of the hottest areas of investment is with old pinball and gaming machines, things that you can enjoy in your home while they appreciate in value.

The classic 1999 South Park pinball machine is quite collectable and easily acquired online in prices ranging from $2,000 to over $5,000, depending on the condition.

When buying a South Park pinball machine for investment purposes, it's important to get a "whole" machine.  The original South Park pinball machines have a Cartman body on the top and a disclaimer warning, many of which are removed by naughty kids.

Also, it's important to buy from a reputable seller, as these are complex devices where a circuit error could render the whole pin ball machine useless.  We recommend buying a professionally refurbished and tested model from a well-known pinball machine sales shop.

Optional accessories include the "adult language" PROM chip, which cusses even more than the standard voice chip.
